What is the exact error message that you get?2. What do you mean 'unable to do an install of FSX Service Pack 2 after doing a clean install' and'FSX is installed on a separate hard drive, ie not the C-drive'?3. What is the exact issue you are facing with Flight Simulator X?You told you are not able to install and later you told that the FSX is installed on a separate hard drive is it installed or it is not still installed. Please provide us more information in-order to assist you better. A short time ago, I decided to upgrade my PC system to a faster motherboard/processor after the water-cooling pump failed on the earlier system. The new system uses an Intel I7 2700K processor overclocked to 4.5ghz on an ASUS Z68 Deluxe motherboard usinga Noctua D14 air cooler. In addition, I decided to install an SSD hard drive to contain the Windows 7 64bit op sys.
To save cost I bought a 60gb drive - this was a mistake, I should have stretched to at least a 128GB drive. The Win 7 op sys fills more than50GB of the drive and hence leaves no space for much else. I now needed a fresh install of Flight Simulator FSX (it is difficult to get FSX to run properly without a fresh install in my experience). As usual I installed FSX on a different drive to Win 7 using my original version 1 disk. I followed this up withan upgrade to Service Pack 1 level - no problem. Then when I tried to upgrade to SP2 level, the process begins by unpacking its modules and the stopping the process without proper explanation, merely stating that 'no changes have been made to FSX and oneshould try running Setup later'.
Maybe when there is a full moon perhaps? All further attempts are equally unsuccessful.
